Boeing Upgrades All USAF F-22 Raptor Mission Training Centers

The Boeing Company has recently completed a successful upgrade of all of the United States Air Force F-22 Raptor Mission Training Centers. All of these training centers have been equipped with Boeing’s high-fidelity constant resolution visual systems (CRVS). This new system is designed in order to provide pilots with a training experience that offers a more realistic visual environment in comparison to already existing simulators. The final CRVS installation was completed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida by the United States Air Force and Boeing.

"The final installation of the Boeing Constant Resolution Visual System improves the realism of ground-based training and increases mission readiness for pilots,” said Matthew Zamiska, 325th Training Support Squadron commander lieutenant colonel. "This is paramount for Tyndall's mission of training and projecting unrivaled combat air-power."

The new CRVS will enable pilots to experience extreme maneuvers which are not typically practiced outside of a simulator. It will also offer pilots with a display that can provide high-resolution imagery in an immersive 360-degree visual environment with almost 20/20 acuity.

"Boeing's CRVS is unique in that, unlike any other visual system, it provides the war-fighter with constant target visibility throughout the entire field of vision,” said Scott Whitaker, display team manager at Boeing. "The CRVS is a great benefit to the customer top-down, because it provides highly effective training at a low cost."

The CRVS was first delivered in 2010, and has since been equipped with a wide selection of other aircraft simulators, such as the AH-64 Apaches, F-15 Eagle, BAE Hawk, M-346 Master, and F-16 Fighting Falcon.
