ELCO International – A Pioneering Name in Electrical Technology and Engineering

History Behind ELCO International Corporation : ELCO International Corporation, now known as KYOCERA Connector Products, was founded in October 1964. Originally established overseas in Japan, it eventually expanded operations to Korea in 1987, followed by China, Singapore, and Hong Kong. In 1994, the company achieved ISO9002 certification. Shortly thereafter, the company achieved ISO 14001 certification in 2000. Acquisitions of OHSAS 18001 and ISO/TS 16949 certifications occurred in 2008 and 2011 as well, respectively. Most recently, in 2012, the company changed its name to KYOCERA Connector Products Corporation, the name in which we know of it today.

Kyocera conducts global business operations pertaining to a diverse range of products that include advanced materials, devices, components, network engineering, and other services. Their business segments include: fine ceramic components, semiconductor components, applied ceramic products, electronic devices, telecommunications equipment, document solutions, and R&D. Kyocera produces fine ceramic components that are resistant to heat, wear and corrosion and are more effective than metals or other conventional materials.

They offer electronic technology that is used in mobile phones, digital cameras and camcorders, servers and routers, optical communications devices, wireless base stations, LED-related products, and automotive electronics. They are the first company to establish mass production technology for multicrystalline silicon solar cells. In terms of electronic devices, Kyocera offers capacitors, RF modules, oscillators, filters, and crystal products featuring high-purity synthetic quartz crystals.

Kyocera Corporation has its global headquarters in Kyoto, Japan, as well as plants and research laboratories and various offices around the country. Its global network, however, stretches through every continent including North America, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. Their net sales are 1,280,054 million yen, their capital is 115,703 million yen, and their consolidated net income is 66,473 million yen. They have 229 subsidiary group companies and employ 71,645 people. The current president is Gora Yamaguchi.
