AAR Aircraft Component Services was awarded for the tenth time in a row the honored FAA AMT Diamond Award of Excellence. This award highlights the aviation maintenance technician training program that is used by AAR.
Companies that have highly effective training programs are recognized by the FAA AMT each year. These programs aim to improve quality, reliability, safety improvement and knowledge throughout each established company. AAR has been dominating the competition within these regards with their North American Component repair shop. They are certainly investing in their workers and training program.
The technicians that AAR has developed are “amongst the most skilled, trained and talented in the aviation industry”. Ken Hein, AAR Supply Chain Senior Vice President states that,
they develop innovative processes to support the operation that exceeds customer’s expectation for safety.
The Diamond Award of Excellence requires that 100% of eligible technicians must pass and complete a rigorous and specialized training that in continuous according to FAA rules and regulations that change yearly. Individual technician awards are given out to all techs that complete at least 12 hours of training during the year.
This is a great accomplishment for AAR. Will AAR continue their standard of excellence next year, or will another company try to compete for the prized Diamond Award of Excellence? Only time will tell, but AAR has set the bar for any type aviation maintenance technician training.
