Northrop Grumman Debuts Citadel Enterprise Battle Command System

On February 23, 2015, the aerospace and defense company Northrop Grumman unveiled their new Citadel Enterprise Battle Command System. Northrop Grumman’s Citadel Enterprise Battle Command System supports allied integrated air and missile defense systems. The easily deployable and mobile command and control system provides the capability to utilize all sensors and weapon systems, offering war-fighters a clear cut air picture.

The primary goal for the system is to offer an unparalleled, unified view for air and missile defense so quicker decisions can be determined with greater level of assurance. With the plan to replace older command and control systems, the Citadel utilizes the latest and demanding military standards to implement cyber security for mitigating the latest cyber threats.

Through minimizing individual failure points along with giving a greater area surveillance and wider protection, Citadel allows decision makers to efficiently arrange scarce air and missile defense resources. Citadel's fire control network provides the integration of present and future sensors and weapon systems for the utmost flexibility to compete with the ever changing danger and budget environment. System efficiency and durability is also improved as the total life cycle maintenance costs are decreased through the system’s use of the Modular Open Systems Approach and wide-ranging commercial off-the-shelf parts.
